POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide screening, information and referrals related to problem gambling services throughout the state of Oregon
• Use a variety of proven counseling techniques to communicate, encourage, and provide support
• Determine and initiate appropriate steps related to crisis management
• Collaborate with colleagues, program director and other staff
• Document activities and uphold the highest standards of professional ethics
• May be required to work evenings and weekends
• Most work is handled over the phone with regular computer use and multiple programs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Associates Degree in Social Service field
• Gambling Counselor certification or ability to obtain within two years
• Customer service experience
• Bi-Lingual, Fluent in both English and Spanish
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work swing shift (approximately 12:30pm-9pm)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Social Service or related field
• Experience or continuing education focused on treating addiction
